Well that’s the ECU shipped off to @Jez @ H-Dev

going for 4 maps inc a flame map (literally just for the child in me) and with the agency power and decats it should be ‘productive’

i literally cannot wait and also fitting a 8mm plenum spacer whilst at it.

slight update more for my own records.

The ecu headed off recently to Horsham Developments

Being the later models, my zed can take the multi map options, so have the performance map, valet mode and flame/pops n bangs map added.

Whilst at it I also purchased the 8mm plenum spacer for the intake side of the v6 engine. Map took my current mod's and spacer into consideration and also removed the factory throttle limiters in 1st & 2nd gear.

Feel wise the cars power delivery is certainly smoother across the range and id say the intake note sound more metallic and raw.

is it faster ? feels more urgent and livelier in the pick up, but looking honestly the spacer is maybe accepted as a 10bhp mod if mapped and then the map itself, so maybe a 20-25bhp gain in total?

was pleased with the performance at the RMS run (my local club) yesterday, seemed to outrun an e46 m3 and sat with some stuff I thought would have outran me.

everyone seems to find the exhaust hilarious and it makes me smile which is the important thing

even gave cough cough Porsche gt4 a run ha ha.... (total lies, I got taught a lesson lol)

Car is running sweet as a nut and getting a full service and coolant flush this week to keep it this way.

Next job is the one everyone hates and im off rattle hunting. A small vibration behind the head unit has started at 2.5k and has been exaggerated by the non-flex'd Y pipe and titanium exhaust lol.

sorry for the essay, here's another photo

I always wonder how they can map an ECU without the car there? I was always under the impression that proper tuning of the engine was unique car by car and that one map that worked for one car might not necessarily work for another?

Can you shed some light on this?

I would say HDev know enough about our engines and ECU's to provide a very good base map yielding gains, which would serve most cars that are running correctly. Won't be as pin point as a custom map of course, however logistics don't always allow. I'd have 💯 been looking to of had a local dyno run before and then after to place a figure on my hard earned coins.

Out ran a 340bhp+ M3, can't grumble at that. I've been on track *Silverstone national with one being driven very well and just about couldn't live with it.

No huge updates of late other than another service and coolant flush and change

next little plan is to clean the variable valve solenoids and adjust the standard level of the headlights to make the throw a little longer on dipped

Few photos to finish as always. This was from a short run from a local jdm group I’m part of

had the fun of a 600 mile round trip this weekend to AdamLZfest here in mondello. Was amazing to see the worlds top drifters and YouTubers (adamlz, jimmy oaks, colette Davis, James Deane, Becky Evans etc etc) all in the one place and just drifting the whole weekend.

the zed didn't miss a beat entire weekend and got a fair bit of attention, esp with the exhaust still being crazy loud

a friend caught me on the drive home

welp 2 months turned into 4 months lol but they are finally here!!

Currently in a dpd van coming from jdmdistro to my door with custom low rails. seats are in perfect order in terms of cloth, need a decent clean, but no rips or tears, and I have a bolster kit sitting in my eBay basket if needed lol

have also fitted a coolerworx shifter kit (will get photos this weekend) and what a difference that makes lol!! Proper clunk when you shift and it's very much shortened the throw. Only thing I a doing is relocation the hazard switch.

I will be keeping the oem hazard switch in its usual spot, but due to clearance issues, you can't have the plug in the back. So I have got a DE hazard switch and plan to extend the loom and have that switch hidden somewhere so, I still have hazards if needed without a big hole in the dash or cutting anything up too badly

Nice one pal, which seat brackets you looking to use?

jdmdistro who imported them mate offer a bespoke custom service where you can get ultra low sliders made for different cars.

they are made in Japan with the seats

Big morning today

The seats arrived 2 weeks ago and quickly got shipped to my house with the custom low slider rails.

Anyone who has ever tried to fit a sliding rail option to a zed for an aftermarket seat always comments how difficult it is to get the seat low and sliding.

Jdmdistro offered a custom low slider rail option from Japan and honeslty it was an oem bolt in style installation.

Sits slightly lower than oem and slider is easy to use

but seriously if you are needing an aftermarket base mount option for rails then really consider the Jdmdistro guys.

the fit of the rails could not have been more perfect inc all new hardware etc

also using the guide on here did the resistor mod for the seat airbags. No reset etc required so total win.

had them professionally steam cleaned before installation and they came up like new

few photos

Welp a fortnight in and im loving the recaros and Coolerworx. The shifter is ‘just’ on the side of useable fast road/track car. Any shorter/stiffer it wouldn’t work except on the track. Love how it’s looking though
