That sounds like a great shout mate. Have they given any kind of time frame for availability?

Also I'm guessing your set up is fairly noisy with the LTH, how are you keeping the noise down for track?

They haven't but I think by end of June it should be available, its so close to the other Nissan mounts that its nothing drastic for them to engineer just a slight tweek to what they already have. But so far everything from stand still to B-road blast its been perfect, really positive, precise shifts.

Yes the new manifolds do bark a bit but they're not massively louder than before as the system has a few boxes on it, even with that though I am fairly nervous about noise limits! At least Anglesey is a 105dB day, I'd like to try the decebeldevil that Rob has mentioned but I'm not sure they'll go on my tail pipe design, think I may have to get a custom Y-pipe with larger baffle ultimately to make sure I'm OK for places like Donington with 98Db.............crazy that you can drive to the track making as much noise as you want then you have strangle it while you drive round!

Couple more updates. Got some canards from tarmac sports. Haven't had a chance to take proper pics yet, just snapped a couple after a run out to test the new transmition mount at the weekend. Please excuse the state of the car, it's covered in pollen and my 1 year olds hand prints.

I must admit I was amazed at the quality and fitment. They required no adapting and bolted straight on once I'd drilled a few holes in them.

Next on was the VT transmition mount. Gear change certainly feels better and no noticeable increase in noise inside the cabin. I wouldn't say it's a night and day difference but as you can see, my oem mount was in very good condition. I still have the annoying crunch in to 5th gear but the mount has reduced it and it's hardly noticeable when the trans is warm now. I'm still picking the cd009 up on Saturday so that will hopefully put an end to my transmition issues.

CD009!!! Brought from a thoroughly nice bloke in Devon. Will probably bite the bullet on this one and get it fitted by a garage. Without access to a ramp I really don't fancy it on my drive way!

They were very quick bud. Think ordered it on the Monday and it arrived the same week. It's a very well make bit of kit and there is no increase in noise, if your OEM one is a bit tired it'll be a vast improvement :)

I've gone and got myself a TT Z! It's Martins car that was up for sale on the forum.

I went to have a look at it as he's very local to me, to be honest I wasn't sure if I was going to like it but once we went out for a drive that changed very quickly. Also the fact it has been maliciously maintained by Abby since the conversion is a huge bonus.

The way it shifts is very impressive and the noise is addictive. Once I have swapped a few bits over from my black car I think (hope) I'm gonna love it even more than the black one! Though it is bitter sweet for me as I'll have to sell my project for the last 2 years.

Once I've given it a bloody good clean and swapped some bits over I'll get some proper pics up.

Well a few weeks has passed since I purchased the TT, most of that time has been spent swapping over parts from the black Z on the the GM one and getting the black car sold.

Last Friday it went to it's new owner which I'm happy to say was a local guy so I'm sure I'll see it about from time to time.

This has meant that I've been able to put a bit of time in to the GM, giving it a full DA polish with scholl s20 black (amazing stuff), wax it with anglewax Ag and finish it off with a coat of Angelwax QED. The results are very impressive, the car was in need of a bit of tlc body wise when I got it but it's now immaculate.

As for the car it's self, I'm very impressed, the grunt it has is immense and it's still very civilised in the way it delivers the power. Puts a massive grin on my face every time I get in it.

Made the most of the nice weather today and took the Z out for a spin.

This really isn't really the best build thread in the world as some one else has done all the hard work for me! I have fitted the OEM seats from Andy James Z (nice to meet you:)) . They are immaculate as you would expect from him.

I tidied up the engine bay, ran out of heat reflective tape so I'll have to get some more!

It's booked in for a front end resprey at TGM on the 1st of December as the front bumpr has a few marks I'd like to have sorted.

Once that's done I'm going to look at selling it on to get a more track focused car. I've been eyeing up a vx220 for a little while now and it's and itch I'm gonna have to scratch!

Bit of random one here. With the TT build on page 6 what suspension where your running when you put the enkei’s in?

about to pull pin on set of rpf1’s 9.5/10.5 et15’s and I’ve eibach lowering springs currently.

just looking heads up on fitment issues or ride hide ideas

thanks!

Based on my experience, 9.5 +15 front / 10.5 +15 should be perfect for standard arches. With 255/35/18 front and 285/35/18 rear. Both tyres will look very slightly stretched. You'll want probably 1.5-2 degrees of camber to tuck the tops in and for best handling. (adjustable upper control arms recommended)

I'm running Advan TC-4s 10.0x18 +25 front and back with 265/35/18 & 285/35/18. The inside of my front wheel is about 3-4 millimetres from the wheel knuckle (slight tyre stretch - wheel is 11"/279mm wide edge to edge). The rear tyre is really tight to the arch lip and ideally needs the arch lip removed to get modestly low, or lower for track. Thankfully I'll get the lip/step removed when I have a respray imminently which will allow the tyre to tuck just inside if suspension compresses enough.
