Broken Crankshaft

Recommended Posts

Down on the beach at Crackington haven and we went over to a rocky part that is only exposed when the tide is out. There were two of them and a couple of bent propshafts. Either a shipwrecked boat or they have been dumped and washed up.

Might have to think about taking some tools and trying to get a souvenir

Might be from a WW2 German Schnellboot or motor torpedo boat. These were powered by 3 Maybach Mercedes V20 diesel engines which could propel the 100 ton boat up to speeds of 44 knots 50mph
