Another paint warranty claim!

Hey guys,

I see a few threads here about people trying to claim through the warranty for the rust / corrosion and just wanting to share what's been going on with mine too!

I have a 2004 reg, with just short of 60000 on the clocker. I don't do much miles in it myself just an evening / weekend kind of deal. So noticed some bubbling appearing near the rear arch on one side, and I hadn't really spotted it until I noticed one had burst and upon checking the inside of the arch it seems to be being eaten away from inside on both sides.

As the car is covered for the 12 years, and has always been serviced at Nissan through its life, I've been dealing with the warranty department for over 4 weeks now trying to get this sorted, took the car to get photographed by a Nissan approved workshop who the guy actually said it was seems to be from corrosion and not damage.

Now i was wondering what was taking so long so got back in touch with the dealer, who's said the body shop have quoted £6000 for the work! Surely this can't be right!? I can only image they are now going to try fight me on this due to such an extortionate price?

Any thoughts on this!?

Pics attached.

Exactly what I'm thinking. If they are quoting for a full respray, are they almost suggesting that yes it is the paint that is the issue here? Because then they surely wouldn't be able to back down, as it would be an issue with the entire car? Whole thing has give me a bit of a wobble!

6k is about right for a stealership to respray and whole car remember. Chances are the bodyshop have said 'no chance we're blending any paint on a zed.....full respray!'

Don't forget the Nissan bodyshop are absolutely not interested in cost.....they just tell the service manager what they think needs doing.

Haha its not an actual Nissan shop mind, its a place near Star City near Birmingham called RS Motors. The dealer themselves are pretty spot on to be fair, just hope the warranty person at Nissan is feeling nice...

Seems this is much more spread that I thought, after really going across the entire car. this is happening all over. Front wheel arches are showing signs of the spot welds coming away, and even parts where 2 panel joints are too. I'm fearing the worst
