  1. Hi Jason, I've just recently sold my old car which was an 03' Honda Civic Type R 30th Anniversary Edition so I've only had my 350 a few weeks now but it was one of the best decisions I've made. I loved how reliable the Civic was and I had it for 3+ years with no mechanical issues at all. When I sold it I had 118K miles on the clock so it wasn't a low mileage example either. I wasn't even looking for a 350 when I bought mine. I was just looking for something a bit more luxurious, grown up and smarter preferably with leather heated seats & a few other goodies. After looking at Golf R32's, Audi S4's, BMW M3's and a few other random car's I finally stumbled across a local garage selling two 350's. Both UK spec with the GT packs. The one I wanted in black turned out to be sold but they had a very nice gun metal grey version with fsh which I test drove and discovered it was exactly what I had been looking for. The torque is fantastic on these car's in comparison and although my mpg figure is probably less than what I could achieve in my EP3 it doesn't really bother me. If you can Jason go out and test drive one as I'm sure you will not be disappointed.
  2. Thanks for that everyone. Didn't really think I'd get this many response's but this is one of the best forums I've ever been on before so I shouldn't really be shocked by the nice replies from you guy's. Just been "force" fed another bit of chocolate cake so I'm hoping longsh07's prediction doesn't come true and I do make 35 next year. Thanks again all for the nice comments.
  3. Just thought I'd share it's my 34th Birthday today. Honestly never thought I'd live this long. Got some new trainers & cash from my mother but Dad came up trumps with a K&N panel filter & new fuel filler cap for my 350. Happy with that and the guys in work bought me McDonalds breakfast this morning and cake for lunch so can't complain. Having a good day so far.
  4. DC2 sounds a good idea nowhereboy. Plenty of scope for modding too just like with the EP3.
  5. My Pioneer double din works fine with the steering wheel controls. I'd recommend a Pioneer like grundy225 mentioned or a Kenwood double din head unit.
  6. It does also depend on the insurance company. For example; When I changed from a VR6 Golf to an Import Impreza WRX the insurance company I was with wouldn't insure me on the import. Shopped around at the time & got insurance from another company for the same as I was paying on the Golf. These where the days before Go-Compare and the like though so you had to spend ages ringing around to get quotes. Nowadays I do think it's a lot easier to find lower premiums and there are of course more companies out there that specialize in Import car insurance. I do believe insuring an import vehicle is more expensive still but nowhere near as bad as it used to be which is where the "myth" started. Just changing times that's all imo.
  7. Going for a test drive can't hurt and it might help you make up your mind. Mileage wise I wouldn't worry too much about an EP3 with over 100K on it as long as it's been serviced regularly and had the oil level checked regularly too. Oil level is critical with the K20 engine to keep it running well and they will not engage VTEC if the oil drops below a certain level which is why before buying one you must always check the oil level & that VTEC engages smoothly around 6K rpm. My 2003 Type R that I just recently sold had 118K miles on it and still went incredibly well but I maintained it properly (and so did the previous owners).
  8. Very impressive results rtbiscuit. I was talking to Super Stu I believe it was about the drivers door pull/electric switches carbon fibre dipped unit that you had done for him in the past as I was after one because mines all scratched up from some ring wearing previous owner. Can't afford it at the mo but please let us know if you ever start doing these again.
  9. I've got a Pioneer AVH-4400BT double din 7" touch screen in my Zed. Works with standard Bose speakers, steering wheel controls, I phones, Ipods, plays CD's/DVD's etc. Great unit ~ probably not available anymore but similar ones today from Pioneer/Kenwood etc will set you back maybe £400-£600 but worth it imo.
  10. Imo ~ All high performance/sports cars = Super Unleaded & nothing else.
  11. Got my G1 kit the other day from eBay. Just waiting for the weekend now and a dry day to apply it. Has ironically been raining here in Wales all week.
  12. Not that much that it makes it worth having your own removed ~ maybe try a Sperm Bank. Not much money involved per shot but lot's more fun then having your own kidney removed. Hope you have a good honeymoon and your money worries get better.
  13. Thought it was going to be rubbish but was wrong ~ awesome little video Clarkie.
  14. Glad you where alright in the end after such a nasty crash Hermann. It look's as if you've dented every single panel on the entire car. Never a nice feeling, that loss of control and knowing the inevitable crash is on it's way. Had a look at your gallery pictures btw and your car looks lovely now. Very jealous of all the lovely carbon fibre in the engine bay too.
  15. I would argue the Zed is quite literally falling into the same bracket of affordability and accessibility to much younger more boy racer types... (not saying that is you btw!) Not sure I agree with you there but I understand the Zed's are becoming more affordable but not quite in the same league as the Type R. High mileage Type R's can be had now for under £2K quite often where as you'd be hard pressed to find a similar aged Zed with similar miles anywhere near that sort of price. Plus the insurance alone should put the Zed out of reach for some younger drivers (I'd hope ).
  16. As you say nowhereboy just take your time and think about it before you make any rash decisions.
  17. Well I just came from a Type R to my Zed and tbh I wouldn't go back. Not that the EP3 wasn't great but it just felt like more of a Chav's car especially with the low prices of some nowadays making them more affordable to, ...well, Chavs & boy racers. The Zed with it's leather/electric/heated seats and sports coupe styling is so much nicer imo. If I ever bought an EP3 again it would purely be for a track day car because as a daily driver I'd prefer something a bit more luxurious.
  18. Doesn't have the GT pack but spec still sounds good, low miles for the year, fair price (could be knocked down I'm sure) & best colour too. Although it doesn't mention in the ad anything about service history though which is something I'd investigate further tbh. Still definitely worth a ring/drive/look at imo.
  19. Totally agree with you. Someone pushed me like that once when I was younger and I suffered whip lash. Back then I didn't know what it was but suffered with my neck for quite a while afterwards. Luckily I got better. Sorry to hear you weren't so lucky HASH. The guy in the video deserves to get layed out by the Predator imo. Hope the Police do something about it now they've identified him,
  20. Welcome Hermann. So you like BMW's then. My old man has had loads of them over the years including 740 V8 auto ~ his was gold I remember as a child and was built like a tank but the sound of the engine always made me smile when he put his foot down. Hope you enjoy the 350Z just as much as your other cars.
  21. Oh dear, some one's being playing too much GT5 and thinks he's a f**king race driver. What a prat. As Super Stu said; "All it takes is for some family in a Twingo to change lanes and he's ****ing murdered them all."
