Yeah i will. Basically (very basically!!) they either come to your property or to where the car is and download the data from the ecu, send it back to head office where they then download it and remap it. Its then sent back and reinstalled into the ecu. A friend had it done last week on his top end merc. The ecu on the merc has some sort of anti tamper program (as does the Z apparently), they bypassed this and updated his ecu. Took about 2 hours. I asked what difference it made and he said a few things, quicker throttle response, more low down torque, very slight improvement 0-60 and better fuel consumption. Although he said he hadnt noticed any difference on the fuel side of things as yet. Funny enough, the guy i spoke to was an ex nissan guy and knew all about the Zs. I asked about the obvious stuff ie 0-60 times and he said there would be a slight improvement but it was more aiding response through the gears, torque and low down grunt that benefitted most. Interesting. Now im no high end mechanic so im only relaying what i was told by my friend and by the technician...but it sounds interesting to me!!...so far!!
Hmmm ive just been on the phone to Black code and they say they can do it...not via oem software though.The oem software cannot be remapped. The uprev tuning software is added to the ecu and allows for oem tuning on a dyno.
3 places can do it. Depends how far you want to travel and where you are located.

find out what software please as this is new to all members on here. Throughout the world uprev tuning is used or a new aftermarket ecu is fitted.
You wont get much gains to be honest without supporting mods. Even then you probably barely break the oem figures on most cars except the later HR engined cars

Yep... every journey back from Pinewood or Shepperton I must encounter at least to German cars wanting to have a burn on the A3. I just peel away, leave them and then I like to pull back so they can at least pass me and have their moment. Im in a position where there is no ego to massage and a full clean license is essential, so I have a play but not to the point where I do anything detrimental to my ability to get to work. What pisses me off though is the fact that they like to really drive up your ass...

Yeah...i managed about 31mpg with cruise set to 80mph!!The Z can ACTUALLY do 30mpg!! Well 30.1mpg!! That's the best I'VE done anyway!!
Try sticking cruise control on at 50mph, think I managed about 37mpg doing that!
Remember to reset the trip comp once you've got cruise on to make sure it just reads that section of the journey!

Has anyone heard of Black Code Remapping? Been on their website and was wondering if anyone knows anything about them or has had work done on their Zed by this company!!...and if so, did it work!!

Well im in the Haywards Heath area and always up for a natter!!...havnt had my Z long but loving every minute of it!!
In fact the guy i bought mine off text me the other day 'wondering' how i was getting on with it!! I think he wants it back!!

Ok forgive my ignorance but what is uprev?? ive never heard this term!!Lots of choices available but worth noting that without an uprev the exhaust once fitted will be for sound only...
What's your budget as we do exhausts from £374 through to £1500.00...
If you wanted a step up from the OEM system without breaking the bank then the Cobra Sport system we do would fit the bill...

SuperStu, the power gains that are due to the exhaust are basically all in the y-pipe and are pretty small. You basically buy a replacement zed exhaust for the sound and the improvement in quality. That said OP, I would do some more research - CS has already mentioned uprev, which is well worth getting but only once you have finalised supporting mods
How is the quality improved?? better welds etc or other stuff??

Hi all, i'm looking at potential exhaust systems and was thinking, is it worth staying with the standard system or moving on to another...at the mo i'm looking at a new back box so would like a little advice...I do love the sound produced by the standard box but am open to suggestions for durability, chrome look and performance. Pricewise id like to see what I can get for a similar cost to a standard back box but maybe one better suited for performance maybe!!...or am I being greedy lol!! Thanks!!

I got exactly what I asked for and they balanced the wheels too. The one I went to has a contract with the Jaguar garage for any wheel colour changes. I got mine in a satin anthracite finish and they are like a completely new set of wheels. They basically dip them in acid, shot blast, paint, bake, re-tyre (or even put new tyres on if you have a set) and balance them.
They can diamond cut them as well if you need it.
Overall the finish is like what you would expect on a brand new set of wheels.

Well I can vouch for The Wheel Specialist. They have centres all over the country and if you say that you know somone from the forum who went to the Westerhope branch and got a full set of 19s done for £360 with a courtesy car then I'm sure they will price match. That's same day service too.
