    I had it refilled a few weeks back and it was lovely and cool straight away. I assume it's pumped in refrigerated.

     

    Also I'm assuming the AC clutch doesn't really care of the system is full or empty? If you press on the clutch should engage?

  2. So I've read a few forum posts on AC issues. It looks oos like my AC clutch isn't engaging. 

     

    Should I be able to hear a click from the relay? Or is the click only from the clutch engaging which obviously it's not.

     

    Knowing the issue is the clutch I checked the 10A AC fuse in the back box of the engine bay. Looks visually fine. I know there are 3 relays in that box for the AC as well, how can I test them?

     

    How easy is it to reach the AC compressor plug and manually test it engages with 12v?

     

    Just in case it's relevant I've also noticed my washer jets have packed in recently, unsure if there's a connection between those 2 systems.

  3. Has anyone got/know of a good tpms system to retrofit? Seen a few on Amazon etc but they all seem slightly too cheap or physically too big! 

     

    Given how little I use the Z they seem like a useful thing to fit so I'm not checking the pressures all the time needlessly

  5. My Z isn't my daily and it's sat around a lot during lockdown. The battery died by I managed to recharge it and bring it back to life, the car works fine the keys not so much!

     

    So the remotes on both keyfobs don't work (including with a new battery) so you have to manually unlock the car. My regular fob will disable the alarm but the 2nd fob won't even do that.

     

    I've tried the key registration procedure (6 turns of the ignition then hold lock and tap unlock 3 times) and it seems to work in that I get the double hazard flash after the 6 turns, then a double flash after switching to the on position.

     

    I don't believe I get a single flash at the end of holding the unlock key though and it certain doesn't fix the issue.

     

    Any thoughts? This seems slightly different to other posts about new keys or just asking what the procedure is.

  6. I'd have thought it's a bush on the control arm (if that's what it's called I always forget) the shocks are testable by pressing on the car but worn shocks shouldn't bump they just don't restrict the movement as designed.

    Have you changed the rocker covers? I'm definitely burning less oil with new covers (Which include a new pcv valve)

    There are circa 80 x 6mm similar bolts on the R35 GT-R undertray panels and every time I have them off I always re-grease them which is very time consuming but well worth it.

    What type of grease do you put on the threads?

     

    Presumably the gtr doesn't have those annoying metal clips which seem to only serve to shred plastic components?

  9. Argh! Is what we all say, once again we need to undo the under tray once again the nuts have rusted once again an arch liner or something gets torn.

     

    What's the solution? I have my lovely torqen undertray which is still going strong after 6 years or so (buy one of you haven't got one) but arch liners are still prone to the stupid rusted clips spinning and cutting through them. For people who regular get under the car and fiddle with bits what's the solution?

I've gone off the back of the maser now, it would need to be sharper these days but it's a lovely car and would certainly drive people wanting to own one (actually owning things is a different topic) but instead they went off and built a limited supercar that nobody will ever get the chance to own :(

  11. In case anyone ever stumbles over this. I replaced the rocker covers which had been leaking and causing lots of oil in the plenum and I've yet to have the 02 light come on so no doubt a ton of burnt oil was making it's way over to the sensor and causing issues. If you've an o2 sensor that constantly trips with HFC's then I'd recommend checking your Plenum to see if things are leaking

Already had them off once and used the torqen DIY seal kit which obviously hasn't worked fo me so what I'd like to know is should I go for oem nissan replacements or are there others that are just as good bearing in mind I'll want to track the car again? 

     

    Also kinda can't be bothered doing the job again myself as it's a pain so if anyone that's had the job done at a garage could give me a ballpark price that would be great.

    :pmzmanalex: I fitted his replacements last month and all well so far :) Garage wise it's a good few hours work (ie 4)

    Yeah people say that but I've done the penny trick when I bought the car 7 years ago, I've bought new springs as well and it's never cleared properly (also new struts updated) so I'm.eager for these to arrive and me to try :)

    Looking good, where did you get the extension? I was pondering if an extension and ball knob was better or something longer like the mishimoto cylinders if they added some length

  15. Wow what a change! Still getting used to the extra effort but the firmness is really something you know exactly where the gears are that's for sure! 

     

    I'd never understood the point of them since the 350 has such a short gearstick but that's because I didn't understand what they actually did till I watched a video. Very easy to fit maximum two hours and a chunk of that is wiggling the rubber boot back on the linkage underneath. 

     

    Anyways of people fancy one then I'd say it's definitely worth it to give the car a more solid feel. It's a better feel than changing your gearbox mount and doesn't add all the nasty noises!

     

    Ps it was the tarmac sportz shifter i got :)
