The tablet does wake when charging, you just need to lock it or use deep sleep if left overnight. I faced the power button board forward, drilled a hole and used a small bit of black rod as a button. That bit is on the right of the photo with the nylon bolt holding it in place.

I could take more photos if you wish I've had to remove the screen to reglue it, don't use a glue gun it melted with the heat yesterday

does the sound play through the speakers?

yes it's linked to the aux input on my head unit

Did you buy a new cubby or did you have factory nav?

I bought the sat nav cubby. Just read on your profile you keep marines what tank have you got? what would you recommend as a first marine tank? i'm thinking about aquael reefmax 105 ltr but need to save up

There are apps avalivalble you would just need a bluetooth gps reciever. To tether it to an iphone I belive it would have to be jailbroken unless you pay the service provider

Looking good, couple of things dude : how did you mount it in the cubby? Did you just take the back off the tablet??

Also would the obd software work with a import?? I believe jdm obds ate different to uk??

I'm not 100% sure if it would work on an import mate as i'm not familiar with them

I had to separate all the internals from the case of the tablet otherwise it's too big, it is a PITA and very fragile but if your gonna give it go let me know

have you hard wired the archos into the car's power supply?

It's on the android market for around £3

No just plugged into the cigarette lighter until I figure out how to hard wire it

what's the OBD software you have on the display?

It's torque pro with a cheap bluetooth obdII connector

I started this ages ago but lost interest, finally fixed it and finished it off today and well pleased with the result

It's an archos 70 tablet running android disassembled and stuck in the cubby, it fits millimeter perfect

The possibilities are pretty much endless with an android device music is synced through wifi to the unit, live obd monitoring, music, videos, photos etc

I have it in my kitchen fiberglass n1 replica. It had No bolts, so would need some work to find if there are holes for some and it was just bonded to the boot so had to be cut off. There is some filler and resin is stuck to the bottom so would need preping and some figuring out as to how to fit. But yes i was going to see if anyone was interested.
