Test Pipes
From Zwiki
![]()
These pipes completely remove your factory catalytic converters and replaces them with a straight through design. This provides the absolute most flow possible which has shown gains on NA 350zs between 4-10HP making it one of the best "bang for the buck" mods. These pipes are an abosulte must on FI cars which need all the flow possible. Several variations are availabe for a wide price range.
Resonated
Some of the test pipes come with resonators in place. These are basically straight through mufflers on the test pipe designed to minimize or completely remove the "raspy" sound that regular test pipes sometimes have. Depending on the particular exhaust combination, these resonated test pipes may or may not remove the raspiness.

Non-Resonated
There are quite a few regualar test pipes to choose from. There are small differences that should be noted and appropriate pipes chosen for your particular application. Pipe diameters range from 2.25-2.5 inches. Various materials are used such as steel, stainless steel, and titanium. The titanium will save the most weight, but is only a few pounds lighter than the steel variants. Any test pipe you choose will be much lighter than the heavy stock catalytic converters. As much as 40lbs may be saved using the Titanium pipes.
