  1. NOOOOOOoooO!!!! Don't buy banana arms from e-bay! Learn from my mistakes! They last only a year (If you're lucky). It's not worth saving the money on suspension! Do it properly, buy genuine parts, and they will last for years.
  2. I've got most of my tools from Lidl - they never failed me. And for that price it's tricky to find similar quality.
  3. OK, I've got the air-con servicing booked in 3wks time, £60 and 2 hrs the bloke says for complete re-gassing (not topping-up). Is that reasonable price?
  4. Now that's something I can't say... Bought the Zed in 2012 with 28k on the clock, now@ 41k, I don't think it has ever been re-charged or serviced. Should I take it for re-charging and servicing then?
  5. It's definitely coming from the engine bay. I didn't have a chance to get someone to rev the car for me and listen/have a look from the front of the car, but I'm 100% sure it's from the engine bay.
  6. Will slave cylinder and new clutch line do the job? Or should I go for the master as well? Now that it's so hot outdoors it's a real pia!
  7. Ok, so for the last week I've been driving with a/c on, I have done about 50 miles. The air is cool and dry, no bad smell or anything like that. One thing I have noticed is terrible whining that is revs-dependant. Speed is irrelevant, but when i rev the car, whether it's in the car park or during the trip, on the move, the whining gets louder and the pitch of the sound goes up with the revs. The problem dissapears when I switch the a/c off. Not sure if its normal, but at idle rpm with a/c on I get the sound just like the one you hear when the radiator fan is on. My worry is it's the a/c compressor on its way out. Anyone had similar problems?
  8. Ok, thanks for all your advice. Cheers.
  9. It's not an advert but surely if any of you watched Dexter TV series you've noticed a yellow Zed with Nismo bodykit. It was just a 2 seconds scene, but one I remembered Can't remember which season or episode though... Maybe at some point I will decide to re-watch and then let you know :-)
  10. TBH I don't like the noise from the A/C compressor, but if it could only help then I shall start using it more often now. I did have taken the centre console apart a few times, but every time I was extremely careful with all the cables and bands - maybe not careful enough? Everything is working properly, all switches operate without a problem. Could it be the on/off switch itself?
  11. Hi All, I think I will soon need a new clutch, my Zed (2005 GT4 edition) also suffers from a sticky clutch pedal disease. I read on the forum some sell the master+slave cylinder+uggraded pipes kits. I am wondering what would the total cost for that be and how much for postage? All the best to all
  12. Hi All, it's been a while since my last post, nevertheless it's nice to be back. Here it is: normally I drive with a/c off, I prefer to have the windows down, enjoy the fresh air and that lovely note coming from the back. From time to time unfortunately my Zed decides to switch the air con on on full blast, even though the switch is in off position! I'm not 100% sure but as far as I can remember it only happens in warm/dry weather (because the I usually switch it off). I normally then give it a tap near the on/off switch and it goes off. Ok, no harm done, still makes me worry. Anyone had the same problem? btw, mine is 2005 GT4. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  13. Tried it yesterday - 100% cured!!!! As the garage was changing the links and bushings on front antiroll bar I told them to do the trick and grease the splines as per instructions here and... no clicking! This post is brilliant!!! Saved me £££! Excellent post! Thanks.
  14. The leds are wired to lighter socket and one of the xenon fuses uder the bonnet, so they are very bright when headlights are off and a bit dimmer when they're on. Took me and my mate that was helping me (thanks Marcin) 7 hours to finish.
