Rob's Gunmetal Grey 350z GT

Where do I start? I've finally moved over from the Honda scene, this is my old B18'd EJ6 Coupe. Bought it back in 2010 and built it up to this...

Having owned and abused an old Honda for just over 3 years, I felt it was time buy something a little newer and more refined. Naturally, I wanted more power and I'd also decided that I wanted something RWD. I toyed with the idea of an S14a for a few months, before narrowing down my criteria to something newer than the late 90's. That left me with a handful of options, most of these being way above my price range.

At this point, the 350z seemed to tick all the boxes, so I started looking for a pre '56 plate, in either Kuro black or Azure blue with black leather interior.

Over a period of a month or so, I went to see 2 or 3 that were advertised as being "perfect", all with shocking exteriors. Realising that I'd be in with a task finding one with immaculate bodywork, I started looking at other colours...

Which is when I found mine, '54 plate, GT, Gunmetal Grey with Alzean Leather and all the optional extras. Freshly refurbished alloys, Machine polished and a full Nissan service history.

The car is absolutely mint, the only thing I've found wrong so far is a pin head sized paint chip in the roof.

I only have one shitty Instagram picture currently, but I'll upload the sale ad pictures once I'm home!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Where are you based? I swear I've seen the EJ6 on my road in Woking a couple of times recently?

I'm based in Crawley, near Gatwick but the new owner lives in Woking. Small world!

How's it looking? No dents I hope!

Nice Zed and Civic! I've came from the Honda scene too and now loving my 350Z. Welcome!

What have you got planned?

Thanks bud!

For the moment, I just want to get used to it..

I've ordered a new Nissan badge for the front (not a fan of the "Z"). I've also ordered a stubby aerial and my next task is to get my private plate put on, so just small things for the moment.

Coilovers will be the first thing on my "proper" mod list though...

As promised, a few pictures from the sale ad...

It looks great! I've noticed it a lot! If you ever need any Z help there's plenty of us around the general area :)

Good to hear!

Cheers dude, I'll keep that in mind.

On a unrelated note, I de-wipered the rear this morning, then gave her a good clean, these were the results...

  • 2 weeks later...

A friend of mine uploaded a few more pictures last night...

Cannot wait to get the front and rear bumpers done, the colour match on the front one is awful at the moment!

Plans for the beginning of next month:

- Front bumper smoothed and resprayed

- Rear bumper resprayed

- Start saving for coilovers

Good plans & some nice pictures. ;)

With regards to your front bumper it looks as if someone has put a silver coloured bumper on your gun metal coloured Zed. Probably as a result of damaging the original and getting a second hand front bumper that was from a scrapped silver Zed. No big deal really, as you say just needs respraying the correct colour.

Thanks bud!

I think there are actually two shades of WV2, so I'd imagine that it's just been sprayed the wrong shade...

Can't wait to get it all resprayed, hating having no badge on the front at the mo!

Woke up bright and early, watched the qualifying and then decided I'd get on with removing my rear fog...

Removing the bumper was relatively easy..

I came up with a little trick for those who don't wish to receive an earful for ruining their Mum/Wife's ovens

A cardboard box & heatgun = homemade oven!
