Opinions On Dipping Front Bumper / Grill...

Was about to dip my front bumper lip below the grill, but now I'm not sure which bits to do...

This is my front bumper.

My initial plan was to do the bit marked in blue (below).

But now I'm thinking I should do the bit in green too, but there isn't an easy edge to work with there...

Or I could do the purple bit...

Though I don't think I can do the purple bit without doing the red...

Or should I just do all of them?...

Thoughts? Anyone done similar?

I'd do everything except the green, really not a fan of painting out parts when there are no physical edges or shut lines to work to.

Spent 10 mins outside just staring at it and I think this is what I'm gonna do.

Makes it much easier to mask off and means nothing should look out of place or randomly stuck on.

Only question is whether to remove the black grill bits first or or try spray with them still attached...

Really.Took mine off and did them.Surely less risk and much quicker.Seriously, just watched the you tube clip and it had me in fits of laughter.

You'll need to get the bumper repsrayed and filled of you move the plate, youll have two 50p size holes behind the plate holder

Aye, same applies for shaving the front emblem (big fist sized recess to fill ;)).

Bumper needs respraying anyway, so using it as an excuse to make some changes.

Consideried that, but:

1) Still have to decide which bits to paint

2) If / when I sell it, the next guy might not want it like that, but they can't just peel off paint

3) Dip / vinyl will protect it and is easier to fix / touch up inevitable stone chip damage

I flattened my front bumper but after a year the filler sank in the recess...so get some sort of guarantee around that

That's why it should be done using fibreglass, not just filler. Filler can't deal with temperature changes very well, it should only be a thin layer over any completed work to smooth it out.

And strudul, bottom left looks best in my opinion. Or the one above it.
